Creating beautiful, biodiverse outdoor spaces tailored to you.

WHAT I DO

Teasell Gardening Services offers tailored garden design solutions for your outdoor space. Whether you are looking for a complete transformation or simply want to refresh or enhance a particular area, my bespoke design service will help you achieve it.With a focus on increasing biodiversity and a background in fine art, I create planting schemes that not only look beautiful but also support and encourage wildlife.

GARDEN DESIGN

After an initial consultation, I will develop a proposal to begin the design journey. Together we will agree on budget, themes, and overall flow, highlighting key plants that will inspire the rest of the garden.

Nursery Visit

I believe it’s important for clients to see plants before purchase. I offer the opportunity to visit a nursery together, allowing you to view plants in person, explore alternatives, and refine the design.

Final Stage

A final site visit and discussion can take place if required. I maintain ongoing dialogue throughout the process to ensure everything is right before work begins. Dates and timings are agreed, and the project moves forward.

GARDEN MAINTENANCE

Teasell Gardening Services also offers professional garden maintenance.Whether you need regular upkeep or occasional support, I can help keep your garden looking its best.

MY STORY

After many years working in management within the retail and charity sectors, I decided it was time for a change.Gardening had become increasingly important to me — being outdoors, understanding the seasons, and appreciating the balance between plants and biodiversity. I also experienced first-hand the positive impact it had on my own mental wellbeing. In 2025, I returned to college to study Horticulture at Capel Manor College. Alongside this, I volunteered in local parks, worked with gardeners and designers, and gained experience at Horniman Gardens.I also contributed to local projects such as the Cobbs Corner roundabout, while learning from allotment holders and other professionals. In January 2026, I launched Teasell Gardening Services.

THE TEASEL PLANT

The teasel plant (Dipsacus fullonum) is the inspiration behind my name and logo.It is a biennial wildflower native to Europe and Asia. In its first year, it forms a rosette of spiky green leaves, and in its second year produces tall stems with striking flowers. These flowers are valuable for pollinators late in the summer season. After flowering, the plant forms strong seed heads that add architectural interest through autumn and winter. These structures provide shelter for insects, while the seeds attract birds such as goldfinches.Historically, a “teaseller” used the dried seed heads to tease wool before spinning — which is where my surname originates.
